The Cabinet of Ministers approved the creation of duty-free shops for diplomats

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree on the establishment of duty-free shops for foreign diplomats. The relevant document is posted on the legal information portal.

The resolution provides for the creation of one store each in Moscow and St. Petersburg. Goods will be sold there for US dollars, euros and Russian rubles, subject to the customs procedure of duty-free trade.

Only diplomatic and consular employees, as well as their family members, employees of state missions or international organizations will be able to buy goods in these stores. The store will need to submit the relevant document.

The owner of the stores will be a Russian legal entity included in the special register. The co-founder of the company will be the Main Production and Commercial Department for the Maintenance of the Diplomatic Corps at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
