The Russian government has approved a Strategy for the sustainable development of the Azov Sea region until 2040. The corresponding order was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, according to the website of the Cabinet of Ministers.
The main mechanism for implementing the strategy will be an action plan that includes projects to ensure growth in key areas of the economy, the development of transport, housing and communal services and engineering infrastructure.
Among the priority tasks is to study the condition of the water area of both the Sea of Azov itself and other reservoirs, as well as to clear and strengthen the coastline. It is planned to create a new tourist and recreational infrastructure.
