The Government of the Russian Federation has increased the list of priority imported products, for the purchase of which importers can take a preferential loan. The corresponding resolution was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
The updated list also includes nuts, coffee, cocoa beans, jams, fruit puree, canned fruits, dry milk mixtures for baby food, additional names of medicines and certain types of agricultural equipment.
A special program of preferential lending for purchases of priority imported products was launched in May 2022. With its help, importers can borrow at a rate of no more than 30% of the Central Bank's key rate plus three percentage points. Now it is about 5.8%. The difference is compensated to banks by subsidies from the federal budget. The Government has already allocated over 37 billion rubles for these purposes.
The period for which importers will be able to obtain such resources depends on the objectives of the loan. For the purchase of raw materials and components, the preferential rate will be valid for one year. For equipment and means of production – three years.
