The Cabinet of Ministers has increased the number of priority areas of technological sovereignty projects

The Government of the Russian Federation has increased the number of priority areas for projects of technological sovereignty and structural adaptation of the Russian economy. The corresponding decree was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishusti, according to the website of the Cabinet of Ministers. 

The updated list of priority areas includes: the construction and operation of high-speed railways, the creation of power plants using Russian turbines and components, the development of new deposits of rare earth metals, the production of composite materials, the assembly of equipment for working with LNG, projects in the field of renewable, hydrogen and nuclear energy.

Among the supplemented areas of structural adaptation of the economy are initiatives to create year–round resorts on the Baltic, Azov, Black, Caspian and Japanese seas and Lake Baikal.

In addition, investment projects corresponding to the development plan of the Northern Sea Route until 2035 are included among the priorities.

The Cabinet of Ministers has increased the set of financial instruments that can be used for such projects. Now it includes bonds issued specifically to finance such projects, and loans for leasing companies that purchase manufacturers' products that correspond to the priority areas of technological sovereignty projects.

The priority areas include industries where the level of localization of production is now less than 50%. In addition, it includes industry areas that are critical to ensuring technological sovereignty.
