The Russian government has proposed to introduce a universal benefit for low-income families. This was announced by the Cabinet of Ministers.

"The support will affect families where about 10 million children are brought up," said Mikhail Mishustin, Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation.

From January 1, 2023, it is proposed to introduce a universal benefit for low-income families. It will combine a number of existing social protection measures, including payments in connection with the birth or adoption of a baby and up to the age of 3, as well as for children from 3 to 7 years and from 8 to 17 years.

The allowance will also be assigned to needy women who have registered in the early stages of pregnancy.

To apply for a universal benefit, you must submit one application through the public services portal, the MFC or the Pension and Social Insurance Fund.
