The Russian government has recommended Gazprom not to pay dividends for 2023. The relevant document is published on the portal of legal acts.
Thus, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Energy and the Federal Property Management Agency were instructed not to provide for the payment of dividends on ordinary shares by the end of 2023 when preparing directives of the interests of the Russian Federation for participation in a meeting of the Gazprom Board of Directors, as well as when forming the position of the shareholder – the Russian Federation in Gazprom PJSC.
Gazprom's shareholders decided at the annual meeting not to declare or pay dividends based on the results of their activities in 2022. The company has allocated 1.2 trillion rubles for the payment of interim dividends for the first half of 2022.
Gazprom (INN 7736050003) is the world's largest gas company. The number of Gazprom shareholders in Russia and abroad is several hundred thousand. Over 50% of the company's shares are under the control of the Russian Federation.
The loss attributable to Gazprom's shareholders in accordance with IFRS for 2023 amounted to 629.08 billion rubles against a profit of 1.2 trillion rubles a year earlier. Revenue fell by 27% to 8.5 trillion rubles from 11.67 trillion rubles.
