The Bank of Russia has revoked the license for banking operations from American Express Bank LLC. In terms of assets, the credit institution ranked 300th in the banking system of the Russian Federation, the regulator said.
The reason for the cancellation of the license was the petition of the credit institution sent to the Bank of Russia in connection with the decision of the sole participant on its voluntary liquidation. A liquidator will be appointed at the bank.
American Express Bank is not a member of the deposit insurance system.
Recall that in 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin approved a list of Russian credit institutions that are prohibited from transactions with shares, shares that make up their authorized capitals. The list also includes American Express Bank.
