The Bank of Russia has maintained restrictions on foreign currency cash withdrawals for another six months, until September 9, 2026. This is stated in the message of the regulator.

For citizens whose foreign currency account or deposit was opened before March 9, 2022, there is a limit on currency withdrawal in the amount of the remaining funds at 00:00 MSK on the specified date, but not more than $10 thousand or an equivalent amount in euros, regardless of the currency of the deposit or account, provided that they have not previously we realized this opportunity.

The remaining funds can still be received in rubles. The amount to be paid cannot be less than the amount calculated on the day of payment at the official exchange rate of the Bank of Russia for funds deposited in the account before September 9, 2022. Funds deposited after September 9, 2022, are issued at the bank's exchange rate on the issue date.

For banks, the ban on charging citizens a commission when issuing currency from accounts or deposits has been maintained for 6 months.

Currency transfers without opening an account and via electronic wallets are issued in rubles. At the same time, the amount issued cannot be less than the amount calculated on the day of payment at the official exchange rate of the Bank of Russia.

Non—resident legal entities will not be issued cash in US dollars, euros, pounds sterling, and Japanese yen until September 9, 2026, and there are no restrictions on other currencies.

Within the next six months, resident legal entities can receive US dollars, euros, pounds sterling and Japanese yen in cash from their accounts only for travel expenses based on payment standards established in accordance with the legislation. There are no restrictions on other currencies, provided that transactions comply with the requirements of the legislation of the Russian Federation.
