The Central Bank has softened the temporary order of operations with cash currency. From May 20, 2022, banks will be able to sell any foreign currency in cash to citizens without restrictions, with the exception of US dollars and euros. This was reported by the regulator.

The current restrictions on the sale of cash US dollars and euros remain — until September 9, 2022, citizens can buy only those US dollars and euros that have entered the banks' cash desks since April 9, 2022. Previously, these restrictions applied to all types of cash currency.

Permission to sell currency other than the US dollar and euro without restrictions is due to the presence of foreign banknote balances in banks.
