The Bank of Russia has defined rules for servicing foreign investors who have received the right to invest in the Russian financial market with new money. This is reported on the regulator's website.
Deposits in Russian banks, as well as securities are available to foreign investors both at organized auctions in an unaddressed mode and during initial placement, as well as instruments of the organized futures market. But in order to acquire assets, a foreign investor needs to open an In account.
The regulator also lifted restrictions on the purchase of foreign currency on the domestic market for foreign investors from unfriendly countries who will enter the Russian market and invest according to the new rules.
Foreign individuals who currently have "C" accounts can also invest using "In" accounts using the new money. But for assets accounted for in accounts "C", a limited regime will remain, they cannot be used for investments.
