The Bank of Russia has raised its forecast for banking sector profits for 2026 by 0.5 trillion rubles to 3.9-4.4 trillion rubles due to continued high margins. This is reported in the materials of the regulator.

The Central Bank raised the forecast range for net interest margin for the current year to 4.9–5.1% from 4.4–4.6%, as loan rates decreased more slowly than deposit rates amid market expectations of a smoother easing of monetary conditions.

The range of retail credit risk for the current year has not changed and amounted to 2.2–2.6%. At the same time, the regulator predicts that the quality of new disbursements will gradually improve, including by tightening macroprudential limits.
