The Central Bank will again provide preferential loans to SMEs

From January 24 to March 31, 2022, the Bank of Russia will again provide preferential loans in support of lending to SMEs from industries most affected by the negative impact of additional anti-epidemic measures. This is stated in the message of the regulator.

This measure, according to the Central Bank, will provide additional support to SMEs in the event of further deterioration of the epidemic situation. This solution will also allow credit organizations participating in this mechanism to satisfy the requests of SMEs for preferential loans that were not processed at the end of 2021 due to high workload during this period.

In October 2021, the Central Bank decided to allocate 60 billion rubles. to ensure preferential lending by banks to enterprises from the list of industries most affected by the negative impact of temporary anti-epidemic measures.

Within this limit, credit organizations that are authorized banks under the Program to Stimulate Lending to MSP2 entities will be able to attract loans from the Bank of Russia under the guarantees of JSC Corporation SME at a rate of 4% per annum for up to 1.5 years.

A condition for obtaining such loans is the provision by banks from November 1, 2021 of loans to SMEs from the specified list of industries at a rate not higher than 8.5% per annum or a reduction in the rate on loans previously provided to such borrowers to a level not higher than 8.5% per annum.
