The Bank of Russia has decided to adjust the schedule for setting the national countercyclical capital adequacy allowance. This is stated in the message of the regulator.
The countercyclical surcharge from February 1, 2025 is set at 0.25% of risk—weighted assets, from July 1 - at 0.5% of risk-weighted assets.
The regulator emphasizes that after it decided in August 2024 to establish an anticyclical surcharge of 0.25% of risk-weighted assets from July 1, 2025, corporate lending continued to grow at a much higher pace than expected.
Since the beginning of the year, the debt has increased by 14.5%, while only in the third quarter of 2024 — by 6.4%. In October, corporate lending increased by another 2.2%.
