The negative current account balance in January 2025 decreased to $0.7 billion from $1.6 billion in December 2024. This is reported in the materials of the Bank of Russia.
The surplus of the balance of foreign trade in goods amounted to $4.5 billion against $5.6 billion a month earlier. The deficit in the balance of services decreased to $3 billion from $3.8 billion in December.
Foreign assets, excluding reserves, increased by $5.8 billion. In December, the decrease was $7.1 billion. External liabilities increased by $5.4 billion, and decreased by $2.6 billion in December. Reserve assets decreased by $3 billion against an increase of $4.9 billion.
