The current account surplus of the balance of payments of the Russian Federation in January-June 2022 amounted to $146.5 billion, an increase of 3.7 times year-on-year. This is reported by the Bank of Russia.
The growth of the positive balance of foreign trade in goods and services played a decisive role, according to the regulator. Net lending to the rest of the world was carried out both in the form of reducing liabilities to non-residents and accumulating financial assets abroad.
