The current account surplus of the balance of payments of the Russian Federation in 2022 amounted to $233 billion, an increase of 2 times compared to a year earlier. This was announced by the Bank of Russia.
The growth of the trade surplus played a decisive role in this dynamic. The strengthening of the current account to record values was reflected in the growth of net foreign assets.
