In the north-east of Moscow, the first high-altitude park in the Russian Federation will be created on the site of a monorail. This decision was supported by more than 70% of the voting participants in the Active Citizen project. This was announced by the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, in his telegram channel.
The 40 thousand square meter park will connect five districts with 300 thousand people. It is expected that up to 20 thousand people a day will visit it.
The monorail has been around for more than 20 years, but it has never been able to become a full-fledged part of the transport infrastructure, nor has it gained much popularity among the townspeople. And the technologies that were advanced back then are outdated, Sergei Sobyanin stressed.
