The Russian government has approved the postponement of payments to parents of schoolchildren. "We planned to make the payment on August 16. But technically, everything is ready to do it earlier. The President supported our proposal, and we will start transferring funds on Monday, " Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said, the Cabinet of Ministers reported.

"Today we will make all the necessary changes to the Government decree so that parents receive money earlier and they have more time to prepare children for school. And this is more than 20 million children aged 6 to 18 years, " the head of the Cabinet of Ministers said.

He also added that payments will also begin two weeks earlier to families who are raising children with health restrictions aged 18 to 23 years who are studying according to basic educational programs.

Recall that parents of schoolchildren will start receiving payments from August 2. This was stated by the Minister of Education Sergey Kravtsov at a meeting on preparation for the new academic year. "According to the Government decree, the start of payments was scheduled for August 16, while technically by Monday we will be ready to make payments for 17 million children. To do this, we will need to make changes to the Government decree, which specifies the start date of the payment. We are ready to carry out this work quickly and we can start payments from Monday, from August 2, " he said. "The system is ready, the money has been brought, on Monday we will pay funds for 17 million children," the minister added. It was also decided to postpone the start of payments to disabled people and people with disabilities to August 2.

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on a one-time payment of 10 thousand rubles to families with children.

Payments are made to one of the parents (adoptive parents, guardians, trustees) of children aged 6 to 18 years who have Russian citizenship, provided that the child reaches the age of 6 years no later than September 1, 2021.

In addition, payments will be made to disabled people, persons with disabilities aged 18 to 23 years who have Russian citizenship and are studying in basic general education programs, or one of their parents (legal representatives).

The lump-sum payment will not be taken into account as part of the income of the families of the recipients of such payment when providing them with other social support measures and does not relate to income that can be foreclosed on according to enforcement documents.
