Net foreign currency sales of 29 companies from among the largest Russian exporters in July 2024 amounted to $12 billion, a decrease of 15% compared to June. This is reported in the materials of the Bank of Russia.
The regulator explains such dynamics by the effect of the high base of the previous month: in June there were large dividend payments, under which exporters sold foreign currency.
Individuals bought 39 billion rubles worth of foreign currency in July.
By the end of July, the spreads for buying/selling US dollars and euros decreased to the level of January–May and amounted to 2.57 rubles and 2.84 rubles, respectively.
