The Ministry of Agriculture plans to increase crops next year to 1.1 million hectares in order to ensure a stable situation in the sugar market. The largest sugar beet producers have confirmed plans to expand the acreage. This will allow, under favorable weather conditions, to obtain at least 42 million tons of root crops. This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Agriculture.

The harvesting of sugar beet in Russia is almost complete, there are 15 thousand hectares left to harvest. To date, 40.6 million tons have been accumulated, which is 21.5% more than last year.

The main cultivation areas are the Central, Southern and Volga Federal Districts, where 54%, 21% and 20% of the sown areas are concentrated, respectively.
