The Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation is considering the possibility of resuming the practice of agreements with coal-producing regions on the export of coal to the east. This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Energy.

The head of the Ministry of Energy, Sergey Tsivilev, held a meeting on improving the logistics of supplying fuel and energy complex cargoes to the ports of the Far East. Particular attention was paid to increasing the volume of coal exports from the regions of Eastern Siberia, whose economy is significantly dependent on the export of coal products.

At the end of the first quarter of this year, it is expected to assess how efficiently coal is exported using HDPE, which is effective from January 1, 2025.

The meeting participants also considered a proposal to fix in law the priority for innovative wagons with a higher load capacity at the Eastern Landfill.

In addition, the meeting discussed the possibility of postponing the electrification of sections of the Baikal-Amur and Trans-Siberian railways from Volochaevka station to Komsomolsk-Sortirovochny and Vanino stations to an earlier date.
