The Moscow Exchange announced the consequences of the issuer's failure to comply with the requirements for disclosure of non-financial information. In particular, information about the violation is recorded in the Register of Violations. About this at the IV All-Russian Conference "(NOT)FINANCIAL STATEMENTS," said Maxim Kochetkov, Head of the Sustainable Development Department at the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The tariff for maintaining securities on the exchange list depends, among other things, on the Index of Disclosure Violations calculated on the basis of the Register of Violations.
Immediately after the introduction of this requirement, non-disclosure of non-financial information is not planned to be recognized as a significant violation. The Exchange will evaluate the practice of disclosure of non-financial information by issuers of shares. If necessary, the ways to respond to non-compliance with non-financial disclosure requirements will be reviewed.
Recall that on September 24, 2024, the new requirements of the Moscow Exchange for mandatory disclosure of non-financial statements came into force.
Among the general recommendations in determining the form and scope of disclosure: defining in the report the type of standards used by the company in the preparation of a non-financial report; structuring information into semantic blocks; compliance with the basic principles of reporting.
When developing a non-financial report as a separate document, it is recommended to include information about the general characteristics of the business model and the markets in which the company operates.
It is recommended to include in the non-financial report information on the company's existing policies and their implementation, a description of short-, medium- and long-term development prospects and the main difficulties and problems that it may face.
In addition, it is recommended to describe the targets for the planned contribution of the company to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, as well as the dynamics of the implementation of such indicators.
