The number of tourists in Moscow has increased by 10 in 8 months%

The number of travelers who came to Moscow from January to August 2023 increased by 10% to more than 15.5 million compared to the same period in 2022. This was stated by the acting Deputy Mayor of Moscow Natalia Sergunina, the Moscow City Hall reported.

Tourist spending during this period is estimated at 758.4 billion rubles. Thus, the city budget will receive 103.9 billion rubles, which is 87% of last year's revenues. 

Also, the average occupancy of hotels in the city has reached almost 80%. There are about 1.9 thousand hotels and other accommodation facilities in the capital.

In addition, an electronic visa has been introduced since August 1. Citizens of more than 50 countries can enter the territory of Russia through it. So, over 30 thousand electronic visas were issued in the first month. Of these, 55% were Chinese citizens. The recipients also included tourists from India, Turkey and Saudi Arabia.
