The owners of Volga-Dnepr Airlines have submitted to the government a statement on the voluntary renunciation of ownership rights. The document was signed by Igor Aksenov, CEO and co-owner (50%) of the carrier. A Kommersant government source confirmed receipt of the letter.

The owners "have come to understand the need for direct government involvement" in order to effectively use the airline's unique capabilities. Earlier, the founder of the group, Alexey Isaikin, informed the team about plans to transfer assets to the state.

The Volga-Dnepr Group unites the airlines AirBridgeCargo, Volga-Dnepr and Atran, the maintenance organization VD Engineering and the Volga-Dnepr Technologies Ulyanovsk technical center.

Currently, the Volga-Dnepr Moscow management company, which includes the parent company and technical centers, is 50% owned by Igor Aksyonov, 25% each by Valery Gabriel and Vildan Zinnurov.
