At the end of October, the Hong Kong TPV Technology plant in Shushary (Leningrad region) Philips, Sony, and Sharp have stopped production on the assembly of televisions. This is reported by the Kommersant newspaper with reference to an interlocutor among electronics manufacturers.
According to him, the reason was the pressure on the Chinese company from the United States and the EU (the threat of secondary sanctions), as well as difficulties with paying for components through China.
The Hong Kong-based TPV Technology company opened the production of foreign-made televisions in the Leningrad region in mid-2011, renting premises from AKM Logistics. The company's investments amounted to about $30 million, the total leased area reached 19 thousand square meters.
