Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree "On the establishment of the Presidential Fund for Environmental and Environmental Protection Projects." This is stated in a document on the website of the President of Russia.
The foundation will be founded by the presidential Grants fund for the development of civil society.
This fund was created to support initiatives of citizens, non-profit non-governmental organizations, environmental and animal welfare institutions, as well as managers of specially protected natural areas.
The objectives of the foundation are the development and implementation of programs in the field of environmental protection and animal welfare, environmental and conservation projects. The foundation will also organize and support charitable and volunteer activities in the field of environmental protection and animal welfare.
In 2025-2027, the Foundation will receive grants from the President of the Russian Federation for the development of civil society in the amount of 1 billion rubles annually.
The President also approved the regulation on the Coordinating Committee for the Support of Environmental and Environmental Protection Projects, headed by the First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation Sergey Kiriyenko.
