The production of commercial aquaculture products in Russia increased by 2.2 in the second quarter%

The volume of commercial aquaculture production in Russia in the second quarter of 2022 increased by 2.2% to 215.6 thousand tons compared to a year earlier. In the structure of production, the main segments include salmon, carp, valuable hydrobionts (oysters, mussels, scallops and other mollusks and echinoderms), sturgeon species. This was reported by Rosrybolovstvo.

The volume of trout and salmon cultivation increased by 3.3% and reached 79.6 thousand tons, including salmon – up to 13.3 thousand tons, trout – up to 66.23 thousand tons.

The production of valuable hydrobionts increased by 8.5% to 35.6 thousand tons, including scallops – by 9.6% to 18.5 thousand tons, mussels – by 16.6% to 3.6 thousand tons, sea urchins – by 34% to 3.24 thousand tons, crayfish – twice to 44 tons. Almost 3.7 thousand tons of oysters were grown .

The production of sturgeon species increased by 13.5% to 4.1 thousand tons. The production of carp was almost 68.8 thousand tons.
