The profit of Russian insurers in the first quarter of 2023 amounted to 136.9 billion rubles, an increase of almost 3 times year-on-year. This is evidenced by the materials of the Bank of Russia.
The volume of insurance premiums increased by 21.2% to 548.4 billion rubles. The Central Bank observed an increase in contributions in almost all major types of insurance. The maximum increase fell on credit life and health insurance, as well as on accumulative life insurance (NSJ).
Return on equity increased by 1.5 percentage points to 27%, return on assets – by 0.7 percentage points to 6.5%. The total amount of the insurers' capital at the end of March exceeded 1.2 trillion rubles.
The amount of insurance reserves increased by 2.8% to RUB 3 trillion. due to reserves for insurance other than life insurance.
