The State Duma adopted in the second reading a draft federal law regulating the procedure for appointing and dismissing the Chairman of the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation. This is reported by the lower house of parliament.
The bill was introduced by Russian President Vladimir Putin and provides that the Chairman of the Accounts Chamber is appointed by the Federation Council for a period of 6 years on the proposal of the head of state. The State Duma will approve the deputy chairman of the control department on the proposal of the President of the Russian Federation also for 6 years.
In addition, now the Accounting Chamber will audit the projects of state programs.
