The State Duma adopted in the third, final reading the law "On Amendments to Article 1 of the Federal Law "On the Minimum Wage" and on the suspension of its individual provisions." This is reported by the press service of the lower house of parliament.
In accordance with the law, from January 1, 2023, the minimum wage is set at 16.242 thousand rubles per month. Now the minimum wage is 15.279 thousand rubles. Thus, the minimum wage will increase by 6.3%.
The law changes the procedure for calculating the minimum wage for 2023 and 2024. This indicator will be increased in an accelerated manner. Its increase will depend on the growth rate of the subsistence minimum of the able-bodied population as a whole in the Russian Federation and will exceed them by three percentage points.
In addition, when calculating the minimum wage, such an indicator as the value of the median salary will not be used.
