The State Duma adopted a law on the transfer of compulsory health insurance policies to digital format

The State Duma adopted in the third and final reading the law "On Amendments to the Federal Law "On Compulsory Medical Insurance in the Russian Federation" and Article 13.2 of the Federal Law "On Acts of Civil Status". This is stated in the message of the lower house of parliament.

In accordance with the law, from January 1, 2024, when applying for medical care, it will be possible to present any identity document. At the same time, a policy on paper or in the form of a plastic card will be provided at the request of a person. As a result of the adopted changes, the service for obtaining an MHI policy for citizens will not be linked to paper media. The policy (number in the register of insured persons) will appear upon the fact of the right (birth, citizenship).

In addition, the law extends payments to medical workers for the detection of oncological diseases during medical examinations and preventive examinations until 2024.
