The volume of installed capacity of renewable energy generation in Russia increased by 70.28 MW in the first quarter

The total installed capacity based on renewable energy generation in the Russian energy system in the first quarter of 2025 increased by 70.28 MW to 6.62 GW, including 4.74 thousand. MW is the capacity of renewable energy facilities built within the framework of the Renewable Energy and solid waste Management Systems. This is stated in the information review of the renewable energy market prepared by the ARVE.

The volume of electricity generation by renewable energy facilities amounted to 2.09 million kWh. The volume of electricity generated by all renewable energy generation facilities amounted to 3.1 billion kWh. In general, the share of renewable energy sources in the volume of electricity consumption in the Russian Federation was 0.96%, and the share of renewable energy sources in electricity consumption in the UES of Russia was 0.66%.

Renewable energy generation facilities, including SES, wind farms, small hydroelectric power plants (up to 50 MW) and bioelectric power plants, account for a total of 3.9 GW. 37 market participants are owners of renewable energy facilities.
