The volume of passenger transportation on the Russian Railways network in August increased by 10.4%

106 million passengers were transported on the Russian Railways network in August 2022. This is 10.4% higher than a year earlier. Including in suburban traffic, the number of passengers increased by 9.4% to 92.4 million, in long–distance traffic - by 18.1% to 13.6 million. This is stated in the message of Russian Railways.

Passenger turnover reached 16.5 billion passenger-km, which is 20.3% higher than in the same period of 2021. Including in suburban traffic, passenger turnover increased by 12.1% to almost 3.1 billion passenger-km, in long–distance travel - by 22.3% to 13.4 billion passenger-km.

In January-August 2022, the number of passengers increased by 7.1% to 745.8 million, including in suburban traffic – by 6.4% to 671.8 million, in long–distance travel - by 14.6% to 74 million.
