The Japanese automotive company Toyota Motor Corp. It has developed a program to increase car production to over 10 million vehicles in 2026. This is reported by foreign media.
The company's management has informed component suppliers about the upcoming production plans for 2026 and expects to maintain the planned production for two years, taking into account the steady demand for hybrid vehicles in the United States.
At the same time, the production of cars in Japan is projected to exceed 3 million units in the absence of obvious factors that can dramatically reduce production levels. From January to November 2025, Toyota's total global production increased by 5% to 9.17 million vehicles.
In terms of financial risks, Toyota expects that in fiscal year 2025 (until March 2026), the costs associated with tariffs and including supplier costs will amount to 1.45 trillion yen. Despite the statements regarding the development of local production, in the short term the company is cautious about a drastic restructuring of the production system.
