TransContainer started transportation of export cargo to China via PKT

TransContainer (part of the Delo Group of Companies) has started transporting export cargo to China through the First container Terminal in the Large Port of St. Petersburg (PKT, part of the Global Ports Group (Delo Group). This is stated in the company's message.

The planned regularity of shipments is 2 times a month. The maritime component of transportation is provided by the Chinese company Torgmoll.

The service is aimed at exporters of the North-Western region of Russia. The starting points of the route are the stations Arkhangelsk, Chovyu (Northern Highway), Nebolchi and Shushary (Oktyabrskaya highway) and potentially other locations in this region. Consolidation of cargo traveling as part of container trains is carried out at the PKT in the Large Port of St. Petersburg, from where the products are shipped by sea to China (the ports of Qingdao, Shanghai, Guangzhou).

PJSC TransContainer is a Russian intermodal container operator. The fleet of containers is 120 thousand units with a capacity of about 180 thousand TEU, fitting platforms – 41 thousand units. The company owns 40 railway terminals in Russia. Sea transportation within the company's services is carried out by 23 cargo vessels, including 13 vessels of JSC Sakhalin Shipping Company (SASCO, where TransContainer owns 58.51% of the shares). The sole shareholder is the Delo Group of Companies.

TransContainer's net profit under IFRS for 9 months of 2022 fell by 20.3% to 11.5 billion rubles from 14.48 billion rubles a year earlier. Revenue increased by 24.8% to 125.92 billion rubles from 100.8 billion rubles. Profit before income tax amounted to 13.9 billion rubles against 17.64 billion rubles.
