The Turkish government has involved the British consulting company Ernst&Young LLP in the proposed privatization of two Istanbul bridges and a number of highways. This is reported by foreign media.

Ernst &Young is acting as a consultant on the sale of operating rights for the 15 July Martyrs and Fatih Sultan Mehmet bridges, which connect the European and Asian parts of Istanbul, as well as nine toll highways. Previously, the company advised the government on projects for the construction of bridges, highways and hospitals in Turkey.

In addition, the Canadian BTY Group will serve as a technical consultant for the organization of the tender in 2026.

In 2012, an attempt was made to privatize both bridges and 2,000 km of highways for $5.7 billion, but the Turkish government rejected the sale due to the underestimated value of the deal, which should be at least $7 billion.

According to statistics from the Turkish Ministry of Transport, about 430,000 vehicles pass through these two bridges every day.

Ernst&Young is a consulting and auditing company from the "big Four", which also includes Deloitte LLP, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and KPMG LLP. The headquarters is located in London (England) with offices in 150 countries and a staff of 393 thousand employees.
