Ust-Luga Fish Processing Plant CJSC reimbursed over 4 million rubles at the request of the North-Western Interregional Department of Rosprirodnadzor. for the discharge of insufficiently treated wastewater into the Gulf of Finland of the Baltic Sea in the Kingisepp district of the Leningrad region. This is stated in the message of Rosprirodnadzor.
Violations were revealed in 2024 during an unscheduled inspection of citizens' appeals. It was found that during the operation of the treatment facilities, the company did not provide the required cleaning efficiency. The sampled samples contained exceedances in a number of indicators, including BOD, COD, ammonium, petroleum products and suspended solids.
The company has been brought to administrative responsibility, and an order has been issued to eliminate violations.
The damage to the water body is estimated at more than 4.09 million rubles. The claim for voluntary compensation has been sent to the company, and the damage to the Gulf of Finland has been fully compensated.
