""President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin signed an order "On a special decision on transactions (operations) with shares of JSC Udokan Copper Holding Company." The document is published on the portal of legal acts.
The document allows transactions involving a change in ownership of the company's shares. No additional approvals are required.
"Udokan Copper" company was established in 2008 to implement a project to develop the Udokan copper deposit in the Kalarsky District of the Trans-Baikal Territory.
Udokan, with resources of over 26 million tons of copper, is the largest copper deposit in Russia and one of the largest in the world. In September 2023, the equipment of "Udokan" MMC processing plant was launched and the first sulfide concentrate was obtained. In 2024, the first deliveries of commercial products began.
The production volume of the first stage of the plant will amount to 150 thousand tons of copper per year. At the same time, the company is currently designing the second stage of the MMC. The total capacity will be up to 550 thousand tons of copper.
"Udokan Copper" uses its own patented flotation and hydrometallurgical technological scheme for ore processing.
