Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced a historic low in unemployment. The transcript of his speech at the plenary session of the XXVIII St. Petersburg International Economic Forum is published on the Kremlin's website.

Over the past four years, the number of people employed in Russia has increased by 2.4 million. Starting from October 2024, the unemployment rate in the whole country has stabilized and stands at about 2.3%, the head of state noted, adding that unemployment in the North Caucasus has decreased by about 2 times.

"There is a positive trend in the regions of the Federation, where the problem of employment has traditionally been acute. A competent stimulating macroeconomic policy has worked here, as well as the active actions of regional authorities with the support of federal employment programs, as well as, importantly, the widespread introduction of modern technological solutions such as platform employment and digital marketplaces," Putin said.
