By the end of this decade, the volume of traffic along the Transarctic Corridor will amount to at least 70 million tons per year, that is, it will grow at least 2 times from the current level. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin at the plenary session of the Eastern Economic Forum, according to a transcript posted on the Kremlin's website.
The Head of State stressed that large infrastructure and logistics projects require significant investments. In this regard, effective mechanisms are needed to support private investments, including from foreign investors and sovereign funds.
Vladimir Putin proposed using the potential of the Eastern Stock Exchange to expand the participation of international capital in Far Eastern and Arctic projects. It is planned to create a modern financial center based on it. The Head of State instructed the Government and the Bank of Russia to work out all these issues in detail.
The Transarctic Transport Corridor (TTC) is a strategic project aimed at creating a single integrated logistics system, of which the Northern Sea Route (NSR) is a key part.
