Russian President Vladimir Putin has instructed the Government, together with JSC Management Company of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, to consider the creation of an investment fund for the development of the Arctic. This is reported on the Kremlin's website.
The Government of the Russian Federation and VEB.The Russian Federation should consider establishing a project office on the basis of this state corporation in order to provide expert support and assistance in achieving national development goals in the Russian Arctic zone, support the development of the Transarctic Transport Corridor infrastructure, implement investment projects and comprehensive plans for the long-term socio-economic development of the Arctic core settlements.
In addition, the head of state instructed the Government of the Russian Federation, together with the executive bodies of the regions, to ensure the creation and functioning of competence centers in the field of socio-economic and spatial development of cities.
