Russian President Vladimir Putin has proposed postponing lowering the revenue threshold, after exceeding which small businesses will have to pay VAT. The head of state stated this at SPIEF 2026, according to the Kremlin's website.
"I would like to draw your attention to this topic, which was also at the center of the discussion and is now, I know: starting this year, the revenue threshold for applying the simplified taxation system has been lowered. Now it is 20 million rubles, next year it is expected that it will be 15 million, and a year later – 10 million, Vladimir Putin stressed. "I consider it possible to postpone further lowering of the revenue threshold."
The Head of State also suggested considering preferential and more comfortable conditions for small and medium-sized businesses in the manufacturing sector.
