Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on "On the presentation of information contained in identity documents of a citizen of the Russian Federation using information technology." The relevant document is published on the legal information portal.
The decree defines the cases and procedure for using a digital identity card instead of a paper one. In accordance with the decree, the electronic form of documents from the mobile application of Public services is equivalent to paper.
At the same time, the submission of information using the mobile application is carried out voluntarily.
The Government of the Russian Federation must, within 3 months, in coordination with the FSB, prepare a list of documents to be provided through the mobile application and approve the procedure for using this application.
