VNIRO and KRDV have signed a cooperation agreement

Deputy Director General for the Development of the Fisheries Complex of the Corporation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic (KRDV) Ivan Novikov and Kirill Kolonchin, Director of the All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO), signed a cooperation agreement.

Within the framework of cooperation, the parties plan to develop technologies and recommendations for intensive cultivation of aquatic biological resources in aquaculture. Proposals aimed at strengthening cooperation between science, education and business in order to conduct fundamental and applied research in the field of fisheries and fish farming will also be prepared.

JSC "Corporation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic" (KRDV) is a unified institute for the socio-economic development of the Far East and the Arctic. The Corporation is the management company of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation and the territories of advanced socio-economic development, the free port of Vladivostok in the Far Eastern and Arctic regions of the Russian Federation. KRDV also oversees the implementation of social programs and initiatives to improve the standard of living of the population in the Far Eastern Federal District and the Russian Arctic – Hectare, Far Eastern Mortgage, Arctic Appeal, Muravyov-Amur 2030.

VNIRO is the basic scientific institution of the Russian fisheries industry, unites 29 scientific organizations as branches - from Kaliningrad to the Commander Islands. The Institute conducts comprehensive scientific research in all fisheries basins of Russia and in the World Ocean. VNIRO develops biological justifications for the volume of total allowable catches and recommended catch of aquatic biological resources, has innovative solutions related to the development of mariculture and aquaculture, genetics, molecular biology, fish processing technology and non-fish fishing facilities, conducts a comprehensive assessment of the impact on aquatic biological resources, participates in the formation of economic policy of the Russian fisheries industry. The abbreviation VNIRO is widely known both in our country and abroad.
