VSK experts predicted the CTP tariff for electric scooters in the event of the introduction of mandatory liability insurance for Russians using these means of individual mobility (SIM) in an urban environment. This is stated in the company's message.
According to the calculation methods adopted in insurance, the cost of an annual liability insurance policy of the owner of a SIM can vary in the range from 7 to 15 thousand rubles. The price is comparable to a CTP policy for a car, since the probability of an insured event is higher, but the possible severity of the damage caused is significantly lower.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, cited by the insurance company, the number of accidents with electric scooters and other SIM increased by 35% compared to January-May 2021. In addition, last year, according to experts, up to 250 thousand electric scooters were sold, during the same period about 700 accidents involving SIM were recorded.
