VTB and the bank's leading technology partner, T1 IT Holding, have developed an AI scanner for document recognition on mobile devices. The solution can work on both Russian and foreign devices and has already been implemented in the remote registration services of VTB banking products. With its help, it is planned to optimize the design of about 500 thousand banking products per month. This is stated in the message of the bank.
The AI scanner recognizes information from the client's identity documents, such as passport, birth certificate, SNILS, etc. Artificial intelligence algorithms specially developed at VTB ensure high accuracy of data recognition, and the integration of the service into the bank's internal systems ensures the protection of personal information and its secure storage.
The solution is already being used in the provision of VTB field services. To quickly recognize information, it is enough for a bank employee to bring the document to the camera of the device used for field service, and within a few seconds the AI scanner will extract the necessary data about the customer, thereby significantly speeding up the registration of banking products.
As part of the work on the AI scanner, VTB has developed several dozen different algorithms for artificial intelligence and data analysis, which are responsible for identifying, sorting and systematizing scanned information, etc. T1 specialists have developed application software libraries for use on mobile devices of the bank's retail divisions even in the absence of an Internet connection.
