Since the launch of the project, VTB has issued more than 750 thousand "Resident Cards". The product combines regional and federal services for the public into the functionality of a bank card. This is stated in the bank's message.
The Resident's Card project is being implemented by the governments of the regions of Russia together with issuing banks. VTB cards are available in 12 regions of the country. The largest number – about 200 thousand pieces – was issued by the bank for residents of the Samara region. About 130 thousand cardholders are in St. Petersburg, 100 thousand in the Sverdlovsk region and more than 80 thousand in Mordovia. VTB's "Resident Card" can also be ordered in Orenburg, Vologda, Murmansk, Ryazan and Sakhalin regions, Primorsky Krai, Nizhny Novgorod and Omsk. The card was created on the basis of the VTB debit card of the Mir national payment system with the function of contactless payment via NFC technology. You can use it to pay for purchases, transfer funds, receive social benefits and use digital banking services. The card replaces a travel ticket with the "Electronic Wallet" fare. To pay for the trip, it is enough to attach the card to the terminal or validator. The card's functionality allows you to supplement it with various social and commercial services, such as an MHI policy, a work or study pass, and others.
