VTB has launched the contactless payment service VTB Pay. It will allow the bank's customers to make purchases with a smartphone in one touch at the cash desks of stores and withdraw cash from ATMs. This is stated in the bank's message.

Customers can connect VTB WORLD cards to the new service in the VTB Online application. To pay at the checkout, it is enough to unlock the phone and attach it to the terminal — payment will happen instantly. The service is available to customers with Android smartphones with NFC. Users with iOS devices can receive a free VTB payment sticker and also pay for purchases contactless.

Earlier, the bank launched online payment on the Gosuslugi portal without commission using the VTB Pay button, now more than 300 thousand payments per month pass through the service.

"According to VTB, by the end of 2025, the share of pay services in Russia will grow by 2 times. Banks are actively developing their contactless payment services, and now VTB customers have access to their own payment application. Users can pay for purchases at the checkout with a single touch of their smartphone. In a few days after the launch, more than 30 thousand customers have already connected VTB Pay. We expect that by the end of the year, about 200 thousand customers will use the service," said Rostislav Yanykin, head of the transactional retail business Department, Senior Vice President of VTB.

In 2025, the bank will expand the functionality of the service, and users will be able to receive increased cashback for purchases through VTB Pay.
