VTB is actively expanding its QR code payment service in key Eastern countries. Following Vietnam, China and Thailand, the bank's customers can pay for goods and services in Indonesia and the Philippines directly from the banking application. This is stated in the message of the bank.
QR payment is becoming a truly sought-after tool for Russian tourists. Since January, VTB customers have already made more than 1 million QR code payments abroad in the amount of more than 3.5 billion rubles. The average size of the operation is more than 3,000 rubles.In Indonesia, the service operates through the national payment standard QRIS, which is accepted by more than 40 million outlets across the country. In the Philippines, payment is available through local payment systems covering a wide network of shops, restaurants and services.
VTB has already launched QR code payments in Argentina, Brazil, Vietnam, Egypt, China, Kyrgyzstan, Thailand, Tajikistan and other countries. VTB clients can also send funds to more than 150 countries around the world. Depending on the destination, transfers are available by card or phone number, bank details, and with the possibility of receiving cash.
