The American restaurant operator Yum! Brands Inc. has entered into an agreement to sell the Pizza Hut division for $2.7 billion. This is reported in the Yum! press release.

As part of the deal, the American investment company LongRange Capital will acquire the assets of Pizza Hut (excluding the business in China) for $1.5 billion, and Yum China Holdings Inc. will buy out the rest of the assets for $1.2 billion. The completion of the transactions is expected in the third quarter of 2026.

The decision to sell the Pizza Hut business, which Yum has owned since 1997, is aimed at the company's desire to focus on more efficient KFC and Taco Bell chains with steady growth and sales of $3.5 billion and $3 billion, respectively. Habit Burger & Grill generates revenue of $570 million.

In 2025, Yum announced a review of the Pizza Hut asset strategy after years of attempts to restore the growth of the restaurant chain, whose sales remained at the same level. Pizza Hut's share of Yum's total revenue has been declining since 2019, dropping to 12% from 18%. At the same time, sales totaled just over $1 billion, while Yum's revenue grew by 47% to $8.2 billion in 2025.

Yum's market value is estimated at $41 billion.
